The power of networking, the value of internships and staying true to one's career aspirations: Point Park University's Literature, Culture and Society Career and Internship Summit brought together students, alumni and industry professionals to discuss the ways in which they have achieved their goals and how their Point Park education has helped them find success.
"Point Park is preparing me for career success because the classes I am taking are relevant to what I want to pursue. I am excited for next semester because I will be taking two classes about archiving. I often find that what I learn in class, I can immediately apply to my archival work for West View Borough, and vice versa."
"The size of Point Park makes it easy to get experience right out of the gate. We are not so big that professors and organizations feel too out of reach. So, you can not only form valuable relationships with professors, but also dive head first into whatever you are interested in."
"With the hands-on experience in the classroom from day one, I was prepared for internships my sophomore year of college. Do as many internships as possible, the more real-world experience you have will help you excel."
